Thank you! This is excellent! Maintaining repertoire is very difficult for me. and I am much heartened by hearing your own approach! Thank you!
Omg, I loved the interview at the end 🥰🥰. What did your mom say?? Beautiful piece btw, great job!!
You have a beautiful and calming place there! I can see how you’re blending it to become part of it. Such a place surely nurtures your body and mind. Our backyard facing a lake and a water fountain, it is my calming place. 🥰🥰🥰
Wonderful practice! Looking at the beauty of God’s creation! Renewing your strenght to come back to your piano and giving our best for Him! God bless you! 🙏🏻❤️🌷😘
Love your insight. How wide are your hands? Only 7.8 inch span here sadly
Do you have a plan to come to korea?😮
Oh! I surely will! 😉❤️ Not a specific date yet… but hopefully soon…
Thanks, Jeeyoon, for making and sharing on this apropos topic. I enjoyed your thoughtful and approachable presentation 😊
Thank you, John! I packed lots of information in 5 minutes. 😜
“You make your own luck”. So true! Thanks Kim. Hope you can post more here. Love all your vids 🎹 🔥
Thank you, Charlie! I shall plan to come back here more often. Your kind words encouraged me! 😉
This video was a part of the MTNA Business Digest from "Meet the Entrepreneur" this month! :) Enjoy!
You really are an entrepreneur ! So much work and passion. I would love to hear how you manage your time in general, and if you have routines/structures
In my case when i practice (guitar is the instrument i played btw), i really dont have a problem even my phone is nearby, i just put it in silent mode and thats it. I am not tempted to use my phone when im practicing. Anyways, thank you for making these videos,.Although we have diff instrument, i watch this kind of videos, because the tips, ideas, and concept that i learnd i then apply it in my guitar playing. Best wishes to you.
Great video!
Thank you so much, Jeeyoon, for uploading your masterfully performed Vocalise. I was totally absorbed with every moment while you played. And finally, what a wonderful meet with your special audience member. So glad you both connected at the end. Amazing!
Who's cutting onions around here? Thank you for sharing this moment Jeeyoon, I hope to someday be able to attend one of your concerts.
I hope so too!
Tears..
I once attended a concert made by a string quintet where suddenly the iPad of a musician ran out in the middle of the performance, due to the heat of the lights on the stage. They had to stop the concert and wait for the device to cool down.
Hello Jeeyoon, nice to see you again. I played Vocalise on my 50. Birthday as encore. Annyang! ruclips.net/video/6ip5bh5Gnso/видео.html
Oh my, the entire video is beautiful. And I agree that you, and many other artists, are gifts to the world.
Well played! Tempo just right and very understandable. A lot of pianists think this is a speed test and kill the piece, but you didn‘t. It‘s a Pastorale, not the Olympic 100m final. Thanks
You are fantastic !
This is so wonderful thank you your incite ❤
hopefully gvido has a firmware update since then
What arrangement is that?
Thanks a lot. Very useful and clear
Beautiful Song Dr. Kim🙏😃 John Teofilo Padilla Jr. (Author/Martial Artist)
enjoyed hearing your perspective
I would be nervous being her page turner too. A very beautiful young lady with a sweet voice. She dresses like an angel on stage. See, am getting nervous now. I think I need a klonopin. Great video! I don't like the glow from an Ipad but at this point (almost in 2024) I don't see a way around it.
3 years have passed after your video, do you know if Gvido updated the system so it is smoother? Do you still have your gvido tablet? Have you tried another e-ink tablet?
Very helpful breakdown of the processes behind the scenes. Thanks for the video.
So fine
Audio low
Jeeyon Kim, thanks for sharing your music, your life. A very inspirational treat!
You cannot listen and watch Jeeyoon. Play. Read and see. Without having your world altered
Great advice! Will start it tomorrow :)
🏄🏄♂🏄♀💦💨🐬🐳🦭🌊✨ 👏👏👏
Wow, so many moods and expressions in this piece. Great performance!
Thank you!!!
Jeeyoon you are the spirit amoung we mortals.
Thank you!
Beautiful playing! Thank you for sharing your music and experiences. Very insightful!
Beautiful playing. I could really picture a peaceful snowy mountain while listening. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for listening
Breathtaking piano playing of the late Brahms augusts work .I always go to op.116 and 117 because Brahms here is speaking a new language I didn't follow . My favorite piano pieces with op.76 I have never heard such beautiful almost chorale chordarm ,wrist suppleness. No percussive strike to any of her chord work and the top voices here ring with depth !.It made so much sense and the crush and fall at 1:25 and her unnoticable slower tempo change after it tells you we have gone through a lifechanging event and that rhythms repeats itself and we ar e back at home. She beautifully tells Brahm's story . Hear her Scarlatti too !
Music is great . Is all speaking ? The playing was so fine even though I prefer more cut, short sharp staccato it makes sense on today's pianos and how her legatos and every utter really shines or sparkles .Listen to her soft touch in places and you know the heart and how she feels about Scarlatti. Soft, no edges or sharp brittleness. All is humor and good graces with a communicative Musicality ! So we must hear her other Scarlatti .
"I think I'm making progress..." Amazing, and so true. Thanks for another beautiful video.
Before i went to university, i had the fortune to work as office clerk in an office. I learned how to use a photo-copier effectively, and i know how to do off-set, meaning, puting the original, but do a reduction(usually 90%) and shift the image to the left or right margin alternatively. Then i use these copies with lots of space for annotation. Legal advise, you have to own an original scores and it has to be accompanied with the copies. When i went university, my instructors did not mind me using copies, as long as i bring along the originals. Oh, by the way, then i could make multiple copies at different stage of learning. For example, there were some works i learned as a teenager, pre college, university, and post grad.... I used different copies which then chronicle my learning over the different stages. Indeed, over the years, i have more and more copies of works that i took out and re-learn.
Love your feedback! I cherish all of my handwriting from those booklets that I made to study a specific piece of music. Those notes and fingerings are the treasure! :)
For me, 2 to 5, but mostly 4. In fact, 4 hours seems to be a very common (and productive) amount of time per day for many musicians, as long as it is divided into 2 or 3 sessions. I loved watching your video with that slow movement from Schubert's D664 in background!
Agree! 4 hours are not easy to accomplish but when I get to do it, that feels the most productive. Nowadays 3-4 hours hits the right spot. Glad to hear that it is for you too.
It is always a great pleasure to know all those who know your genius. And appreciate. Bravo
Jeeyoon is ever an inspiration.
I enjoyed this video a lot! It was really interesting to see your approach (and time commitment!) to repertoire maintenance. I am only three and a bit years into learning the piano and have only recently started to try and maintain repertoire. I’ve been pretty ineffective but I put in a small fraction of the time you do so that’s probably the reason! 🎹⏰
So glad to hear that it was helpful for you!
Music for heart mind and soul. Thank you.
Very informative. Thank you.
We must not skip any part. You have gifted us.
